- Vector Control
- Refers to methods used to control and reduce environmental exposure to pests that can transmit disease pathogens to humans.
- Vehicle Emissions
- Air pollution produced by transport vehicles such as cars, buses and trucks. Road vehicles are a major contributor to poor air quality, particularly in urban environments.
- Ventilation Rate
- The rate at which air enters and exits a building or home.
- Vermicomposting
- Also known as ‘worm composting,’ vermicomposting can be accomplished in bins or pits and adapted for indoor or outdoor composting.
- Virgin Materials
- Materials sourced directly from nature in their raw form, such as wood or metal ores.
- Virus
- Viruses are smaller than a single cell or bacteria and cannot reproduce outside a living organism.
- Volatile Organic Compounds
- Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic chemical compounds that have a high vapor pressure and low water solubility.
