Non-Native Species

A species or organism living in a habitat that is not its own–or that lives outside its native, natural living area. Non-native species arrive in areas outside their own natural habitat through accidental or deliberate human activity. Such species can damage ecosystems–affecting agriculture, other natural resources, even human and animal health.
