Minimal Risk Level

An estimate of the acceptable daily human exposure to a hazardous substance–likely to be without significant adverse effects, or to be cancerous over a specified duration of exposure. MRL information is a screening tool for public health officials to decide where to look more closely to evaluate adverse health risks of any substance humans are exposed to in their environment.
