Land Treatment

Systematic clean-up procedure meant to remove soil contaminants or reduce soil toxicity levels. Land treatment usually involves bioremediation processes. Land treatment procedures are being used more often, as the number of hazardous waste sites–including superfund sites–are increasingly being identified. Land treatment is sometimes referred to as sanitation engineering.
