Sophia Bennett

Sophia Bennett is a freelance writer based in Eugene, OR. She has contributed to several magazines and writes a regular column for a local newspaper. Sophia is a dedicated home recycler, avid thrift store shopper and huge compost nerd.

Her professional experience includes six years with the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County, an internationally recognized leader in the field of nonprofit waste-based business development, and a year as an economic development and recycling coordinator in the U.K. She is also a volunteer with the Oregon State University Extension Service Compost Specialist program.

Sophia's other passion is food. She has wiled away many an hour browsing farmers markets, reading cookbooks and trying new recipes.
