Toxins in Tap Water

November 19, 2009

Everyone has heard that tap water isn’t the best thing to drink, but did you ever think it could be poisoning your body?

Toxins Tap Water 400x300 custom Toxins in Tap WaterEveryone has heard that tap water isn’t the best thing to drink, but did you ever think it could be poisoning your body? About a year ago, my wife and I installed a reverse osmosis filter on our tap water, and I’m glad we did. There are over 80 government-approved toxic chemicals in drinking water, according to globalhealingcenter.com. The most common toxins are arsenic, fluoride and chlorine, which are all known cancer-causing chemicals.

You can do a simple test on your tap water to see just how toxic it is. If you have a chlorine pool test kit, break it out and test your tap water. I did, and I was shocked. There was more chlorine in my tap water than in my pool. Not only am I drinking the water, but I’m inhaling it when I shower.

Something else you can do is to take a glass container and an aluminum container and fill them with tap water to the top. Let them sit for a month. At the end of the month, notice the buildup on the sides of the containers where the water has evaporated. Notice the sediment in the bottom of the glass container. Aside from toxic chemicals in the water, you’ll notice rock sediment as well. Think about what that does to your digestive tract over the span of 50 or so years.

If you want to improve your health and the health of your family, purchase a water filtration system for your home. Stay away from bottled water, because the toxins in the plastic can leach into the water, causing contamination. Water filtration is one of the best investments you can make, considering how much you use water to cook, shower and drink.
